During the week of August 11-15, twenty-six children, in our St. Louis program, had the experience of a lifetime at Camp Friends! They spent half of each day in a classroom working on academics (science experiments, art activities, writing lessons, dance classes, reading stories, etc.) and the other half of each day participating in fun activities. I wish you could have seen their little faces as they put on roller skates for the very first time, or watched them smile as they held a putter and attempted to hit a golf ball while paying miniature golf, or heard them scream with excitement as they enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and “Olympic Games” at a nearby park. They kids were given an opportunity to set aside their circumstances for five days, and experience things that they had never experienced before. What a blessing it was to them!
